This workshop follows on from the beginners course and will help build confidence and independence in your beekeeping. It reviews and extends the topics covered in the beginners courses and includes:

Harvesting honey
Feeding and overwintering your bees
Splits and making increase
Swarm prevention and collection (including artificial swarming)
Diseases and pests
Equipment building and maintenance

Workshop activities will feature hands on, interactive practical exercises. Participants will undertake a number of simulated hive manipulations in addition to carrying out open hive inspections at the apiary.

Lunch and morning tea included in registration.
