Winter Workshop: improving your beekeeping

A winter refresher at intermediate level, designed for club members to build confidence and independence in their beekeeping.  

Reviews and extends topics covered in the beginners courses and includes:

  • Inspecting and handling bees
  • Splits and making increase
  • Swarm prevention and collection (including artificial swarming)
  • Diseases and pests
  • Equipment building and maintenance
Workshop activities will principally feature hands on, interactive practical exercises.  Participants will undertake a number of simulated hive manipulations.

Lunch and morning tea included in registration.
