I am planning to purchase some packaged bees from "Northern Beekeeping" and was wondering if anyone can give me advice on the supplier or transferring packaged bees to a hive. Thanks in advance.

    Hello Dean.

I am a member of Doncaster bee club and I have a 4 or 5 frame nuc available both of which are ready for transfer into a normal hive.  They both have plenty of brood and are extremely active.

I live in Park Orchards and you are welcome to visit to view the Bees.

I am asking $200 for either nuc complete on full height frames ( No Box) for immediate transfer into your own hive you will need to provide the remaining frames to complete the hive.

Pleased call me on 0408 764 045 if you are interested.

    Keep buzzing

    Dear Stuart,

Thanks for the offer, but I am good - for now.

    You keep "buzzing" to :)

I have now had my packaged bees for 3weeks and so far so good. There is  "honey" in some of the combs and most importantly there is brood.  I think the use of an internal syrup-feeder helped the bees to become established.
