(Posted on behalf of a member) I am thinking ahead to make sure that there is enough food for my bees over winter.  Some people say that I should feed the bees a 2:1, sugar to water ratio, syrup in late autumn if there is insufficient honey remains in the hive, but I am also told that the ratio should be 1:1 in spring. Why does the volume of sugar change.
