Steering Visit (SiTE mEntoRING VISIT) Hive type: Top bar and horizontal Langstroth

Rescheduled (twice!) due to weather. Since we visited a year ago, our erstwhile host has converted from conventional hives to these less common varieties. This visit will be a great opportunity to find out how he has fared and even perhaps to taste some of his honey.

The popular mentoring format involves opening hives for inspection, providing  opportunities for the less experienced to look and learn. Informal discussions follow, with light refreshments provided by the host.

Please register (free) your interest.  Numbers are limited to 12 so that everyone can gather round the hives.

You will provide your own protective equipment.

Notes:

  • Closing date for registration is 6pm Thursday 12th April.
  • These events are member only, so you will be asked to log in to the website to register.
  • The visit is contingent on the weather and may have to be rescheduled if this is unsuitable. An email confirming it is going ahead will be sent to a couple of days before. This will include the site address and the telephone number of the host and mentor.
